Thursday May 12th at Mount Vernon there will be a special time of prayer held from 10:00 am to 11:00 am and 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Please join us to lift our church in prayer as we begin the search for a new Senior Pastor.

At a special meeting of the congregation held 02/06/2011 the church voted to accept Rev. Dr. Jack Eades as our interim pastor.

If you are unable to attend please take some time during the 10:00 and 7:00 hours to offer prayers wherever you are that the Lord will send the faithful servant that he has planned for our church.

The following are some Prayer Points compiled by Harold Pritt.

“If My people who are called by My Name will humble themselves and PRAY and seek My face, and turn from their wicked, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land”.

This is the call of God for His people to PRAY and seek His forgiveness so that He can HEAR us, forgive us and heal us.

Our Deacon Board has called us to prayer and rightly so – we have much to pray for.

PRAY that God will send a good and godly man of His choosing to lead us as soon as possible.

PRAY for our people:

  • The depth of our spiritual concerns
  • Our sincere, Christian brotherly compassion for each other
  • Our recognition that we are a unique FAMILY OF GOD that has voluntarily bonded together as the congregation of Mt. Vernon Baptist to send out the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.
  • As that unique FAMILY OF GOD we will learn to experience that warm sense of family togetherness with the kindness and loyalty that the Lord brings to us.

PRAY for our Pastors – Brinton, David, Hoppy and Jack

PRAY for those in our church and personal families who are sick, both physically and spiritually, confined to home and special care facilities.

We did have a special prayer time from 10:00-11:00 and though we were few in number it was amazing to watch God work!

Please come out and join us for prayer this evening.

I can think of no better way to prepare for such a change. The gathering of fellow Christians/friends certainly will tighten the bond that is going to be needed during this emotional period. I look forward to what Mt. Vernon Baptist Church and God have in store for all of us in the upcoming months and years!!!

    In His Hands,

Last night was unbelievable! How fast an hour truly moves when one is focused on something other than oneself.
Great time with my brothers and sisters in Christ. Look forward to next weeks prayer meetings.
