Rutted Roads, Swollen Rivers, Bamboo Mats

In the Democratic Republic of the Congo more than two-thirds of the population depend on agriculture for a living, over half the rural women are illiterate and chronic malnutrition afflicts children. What does it take to give these people Christ-centered hope? Ed Noyes, an International Ministries agricultural missionary, answers, “Traveling on rutted roads, crossing swollen rivers, and sleeping on bamboo mats.”

Ed focuses on equipping farmers as he journeys to promote more productive agricultural techniques. One such person he has helped is “Mama Margaret” was given a new variety of high-yielding peanut, she could provide for her family and have a surplus to sell!

Today “Mama Margaret” can ensure her children have enough to eat, and she has money to pay for their schooling.

Your gifts to the World Mission Offering are a necessary investment that:

  • Can produce and agricultural “green revolution,” which is so tantalizingly close in Congo
  • Deploy a global consultant, who is an expert in clean water systems in rural villages
  • Send missionaries who work in micro-enterprise, animal-gifting and agriculture
