We are… a fellowship of baptized believers in Jesus Christ, experiencing the love and discipleship of God, loving and sharing a common life with one another, and seeking to bring others into these relationships.
Our mission is to bring all people into a fully committed relationship with Jesus Christ.
Our goal is to serve along with our Senior Pastor Ron McClung and the church staff in fulfilling our mission of helping people BELIEVE in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, BELONG to His family as revealed in the local church body and BECOME his fully devoted follower.
We support local and global ministries through our relationship with the American Baptist Churches/USA, West Virginia Baptist Convention, Teays Valley Baptist Association, and Teays Valley Ministerial Association.

Because we owe our existence as redeemed individuals and as a church body to the death, burial, resurrection and return of our Lord Jesus Christ, we pledge ourselves anew to spread this good news that all who trust the Lord Jesus may also be redeemed.
We shall continually remind our members, visitors, friends and families that “The Mission of the Church is Missions”, that our first and primary joyful responsibility as a church is to carry out the great commission of our Lord Jesus to “Go into all the World (beginning in Teays Valley) and preach the Gospel”.
The church body shall be fully informed as to the goals, accomplishments and distribution of funds used for fulfilling our missionary responsibilities.
As members of Mount Vernon Baptist Church body of believers, we pledge our energies, education, resources, and facilities to carry out our Lord’s command.read more
